The BC Finance Minister announced today new transitional measure to help buyers of new homes (not resale) pay less tax until HST is officially repealed in April 2013. Basically, the BC New Housing theshold will be increased to $850,000, effective April 1st, 2012. You could now qualify for a BC HST rebate of up to $42,500 on the purchase of a new home.
